High Octane Heritage Rock!
Hailing from the heart of the prairies, On The Fly is a sonic wrecking ball designed for the stage. We blend the heavy-hitting influences of Metallica and AC/DC with the deep, soulful groove of Led Zeppelin.
Our sound is built on a massive vocal front: the gritty, commanding lead of Jamie perfectly paired with the soaring power of Sandra on co-lead and harmonies. Behind them, Jeff provides seamless vocal layers while anchoring the band as an elite drummer with truly impeccable timing.
With Calab and Grant delivering a powerhouse rhythm section on guitar, we aren't just playing music—we’re bringing a high-voltage experience to every venue we hit.

This was the best performance I have seen so far from On the Fly. Stellar execution all around left me highly anticipating the release of the full EP later this summer. If you haven't checked out the new lineup recently I highly recommend making it out to one of their shows.

Meet The Band

Jamie
Vocals, Lead Guitar
Jamie is the OG member of the band, and an impressively talented lead guitarist whose solos shred with the best of them. His technical prowess and creative flair bring a dynamic edge to On The Fly's sound. Jamie's ability to weave intricate melodies with raw, energetic riffs makes him a cornerstone of the band's musical identity, with an energy on stage to match! Jamie’s journey began at 16, cutting his teeth in the original music scene with the band Corrosive. That early spark ignited a lifelong obsession with songwriting and performance, as part of a number of bands including Downtime, Xplicit, Eternal Now, Unsilenced, On The Fly, and now Indeego. In 2025, Jamie added a new weapon to his arsenal: vocals. His natural rasp and emotive delivery have added a fresh dimension to his performances, leaving crowds hooked. Drawing inspiration from the precision of classical, the soul of the blues, and the sheer power of metal, Jamie leads On The Fly with laser focus—crafting hard-hitting anthems and delivering a stage show you won't forget.

Grant
Rhythm Guitar, Bkgd Vocals
Hailing from the frozen north of Thompson, MB, Grant is a veteran of the stage with over 10 years of live-fire experience. For a decade, Grant was the secret weapon on the low end, anchoring the rhythm section for heavy hitting bands like Army of the Sun and Monalith. After moving south in 2021, he kept the momentum shifting gears with Giv’R, followed by a relentless 2024 run on bass with Starry Eyes and The Lovers. But every legend has an evolution. After years of holding down the groove, Grant has officially laid down the bass and reclaimed the 6-string. Now, he’s bringing that decade of stage-tested grit to On The Fly. He’s back on guitar, he’s louder than ever, and he’s ready to let the riffs do the talking.

Jeff
Drums, Bkgd Vocals
Jeff is the relentless heartbeat of On The Fly, powering the band with his thunderous drumming and unyielding energy. Known for his dynamic style and precision, Jeff’s drumming is a force to be reckoned with, making him an indispensable member of the band. Originally hailing from the wheat city, Jeff moved to Winnipeg in 1996 and joined guitarist Nick Okenko in his band NOP which later became Ground Zero. After a short stint in Saskatchewan, it was back to Winnipeg to join a local female-fronted punk rock band Trixie. From there it was several cover bands including Aphrodisiac Smile and Kaiser Jet, where Jeff developed his knack for background vocals. Jeff then joined the Morden-based band The Dingleberries, eventually going on to record the album Ashore. Following that was a stint in a local wedding band Kalyna where he met Nashville recording artist David Pestrak and become part of his backing band until 2019. Jeff continued playing in stints in local cover bands, Dance in Ur Pantz and finally DMG, where he also took over lead vocal for several songs. Jeff joined On The Fly in 2025 and is also the drummer for Indeego. An experienced drummer at ease with multiple styles of music, Jeff has an exceptional meter and knack for vocal harmonies. You’ll find him right at home behind the kit locked in with the bass player to create a rock solid rhythm section.

Sandra
Vocals
Sandra is a recent addition to On The Fly, adding her signature harmonies to Jamie's powerful lead and occasionally grabbing the spotlight for her own! Known for her impressive vocal range from deep lows to soaring highs. Her voice delivers both power and emotion, making her a standout in the hard rock scene. Whether belting anthems or whispering verses, Sandra's stage presence and crowd connection make her an unforgettable addition to the family. No stranger to the stage, Sandra has been found with a microphone in her hand since she was in her early teens! She took a bit of a hiatus while her kids were growing up and rejoined the live performance world back in 2014. Sandra has been a vocalist in a number of bands performing for an annual charity fundraiser, and has also been a co-lead singer in a classic rock cover band - The Classic Embers -since mid-2024. Sandra is thrilled to be a member of the original bands On The Fly and Indeego, and is loving the live band experience!

Calab
Bass Guitar, Bkgd Vocals
Calab is a musician who prides himself on giving the audience a show every time he steps on the stage. No matter the size of the crowd, Calab performs as if he is playing to a sold out arena. His energetic performances and dedication to his craft solidify his role as the foundation of On The Fly. Calab began his original music career in 1998 as the bass player and founding member of the band Sonic Sue. In 2003, as Sonic Sue disbanded, Calab along with Erin MacMillan formed Indeego. Indeego was "home" and where Calab truly learned how to hone his craft of songwriting and playing with his whole being. In late 2008, Indeego went on a break and Calab continued playing music in the local cover band scene in bands Penny Arcade and Electric Angel. In 2015, Calab shifted gears and headed into the studio to bring the Indeego catalogue to life. Working for the first time as producer, this was a massive undertaking and proved to be a dramatic evolution in Calab. In 2020, Calab moved back to Winnipeg and formed a new band, Distodius, and in 2025 that morphed back into Indeego, which is still going strong! Most recently, Calab took on the role of Bass guitar player (and backup vocalist) for On The Fly. Calab truly is the full meal deal... guitar player, musician, writer, engineer, producer, manager and business man!
